Family estate in Chateauneuf-du-Pape

Discover the story of Domaine des 3 Cellier, independent and organic winegrowers in the heart of Rhône Valley.

Eleven generations of winegrowers in Chateauneuf-du-Pape.

In the heart of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Domaine des 3 Cellier carries on a long family story, passed down for eleven generations.

The vineyard traces its origin to the Boiron family, whose heritage was passed down by the paternal grandmother. And for three generations, the Cellier family has continued this adventure, cultivating those iconic vineyards with the same rigour and the same respect for the terroir.

Over the years, the estate has grown around a simple conviction: great wines are born from a deep bond between a family, a land, and time.

The Vineyard

A vineyard in the heart of great terroirs

Domaine des 3 Cellier now spreads over 21 hectares (52 acres) in the southern Rhône Valley.

The heart of the estate is located in Chateauneuf-du-Pape, where 13 hectares (32 acres) of vines flourish on the famous terraces of rolled pebbles and ancient soils shaped by the Rhône river.

The vineyard also includes:

  • 2 hectares (5 acres) in Lirac
  • 3 hectares (7.5 acres) in Cotes-du-Rhône
  • 3 hectares (7.5 acres) in Vin de France

This diversity of terroirs expresses different facets of the southern Rhône area, while keeping a common signature: deep, balanced and genuine wines.

Commitment

A committed organic winegrowing

Convinced that a wine's balance begins in the vineyard, Domaine des 3 Cellier farms its entire vineyard organically for all of its organic wines: Chateauneuf-du-Pape, Lirac, Cotes-du-Rhône and Vin de France.

The certification obtained in 2016 crowns several years of patient work respecting the soil, biodiversity and the natural rhythm of the vine.

This rigourous approach preserves the vitality of the terroirs and faithfully expresses the uniqueness of each vintage.

Precision winemaking

In the winery, each cuvee is handled with special care to preserve the fruit’s character and the identity of each terroir. The Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Counoise, Terret Noir, Clairette rose, and Roussanne grape varietals are vinified separately.

Chateauneuf-du-Pape wines benefit from long macerations, which enables a gradual and elegant extraction of tannins and results in great aromatic complexity.

For the estate's other cuvees, the winemaking is deliberately shorter, favouring freshness, balance and easy drinking pleasure.

This approach blends tradition and modernity with a single aim: to reveal the truest expression of the grapes and the vintage.

The terroirs of Chateauneuf-du-Pape

The richness of the estate's wines largely relies on the diversity of soils that make up the Chateauneuf-du-Pape vineyard. Shaped by the Rhône river over millennia, these terroirs offer an exceptional geological mosaic.

Les galets roulés de Châteauneuf-du-Pape

The rolled pebbles

A symbol of the appellation, the rolled pebbles store the sun's heat and release it at night. They give rise to age-worthy wines, powerful with complex aromas.

The sandy soils

The sandy soils

Lighter and well-drained, the sandy soils bring finesse and elegance. The wines they produce often stand out for their aromatic delicacy and silky texture.

The red clays

The red clays

Clay soils contribute to the structure and ageing potential of the wines. They help the vine better withstand periods of drought and produce cuvées with fine ageing potential.

The spirit of the 3 Cellier

At Domaine des 3 Cellier, every wine reflects patient work and a family heritage.

From vine to cellar, every gesture aims to support nature with precision and humility, to reveal wines true to their origin.

Wines that tell a story: that of a terroir, a vintage, and several generations of winegrowers.
